Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Haryana Staff Selection Commission will shortlist candidates in a ratio of four times the advertised posts for each category, based on their performance in the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Screening Test. Those shortlisted will proceed to the Knowledge Test, which follows the detailed procedure outlined below:

(a) The Knowledge Test carries 94.5% weightage and consists of objective type, multiple choice questions. Each question carries equal marks.

(b) The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English, except where language proficiency needs to be assessed.

(c) Topics covered in the test include General Studies, General Science, Current Affairs, General Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Numerical Ability, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and other relevant fields. Approximately 10% of the questions will be on basic computer knowledge, and at least 20% will focus on Haryana’s basic knowledge. Questions will align with the educational standards of a 10+2 pass for Constable positions and graduation level for Sub-Inspector positions.

(d) To be eligible for selection in the general category, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the Knowledge Test (excluding socio-economic criteria weightage). Reserved category candidates will have a 10% concession, requiring a minimum of 40% marks (excluding socio-economic criteria weightage) for consideration.
